About the project
The ENHIGLA corpus was the basis for the project A corpus-based study of the influence of Latin syntax on the word order of selected Old English and Old High German translations carried out at the University of Łódź and supported with a grant no. N N104 379140 by the National Science Centre (Polish Narodowe Centrum Nauki).
The aim of the project was to provide a reliable survey of element order similarities and differences between Old English and Old High German by filtering out the potential interference from the source texts as well as any text-dependent features which cannot be generalised to the whole language.
The findings of the project will be reported in the planned book Element order in Old English and Old High German translations.
